Exploring....

Every single day since I started making jewelry has been
a wonderful journey..
Ive gone through simple wrapping into
more intricate wirewrapping..

And then I discovered solder, and flame and metals..
Oh what a joy!Being able
give soul to a cold metal is truly
amazing!

Being totally selftaught had its ups and downs..
I have experienced a wide range of emotions..
Disappointment and joy through trial and error..
Moments when I felt I could create nothing
but mediocre..nothing but something that
was seen again and again and again..

But there where times that I felt proud
of my creations..
Being stubborn really helped..

So, I started experimenting with casting..
It is an interesting technique..and it
will be a lovely journey..
of course they are not ready yet..
But, they will be soon..

How Colour Influences My Work

A couple of my dearest artists (check out their blog)
are having
a talk regarding how colour influences
their work..

So I started thinking..How does colour
influence my work?
How does colour influence my mood?

Well...the answer is : A LOT!

The colour of the stones laying
on my work bench really influences
the final design...Looking at the
colour of the stone I start thinking
which shape, which metal would
make the stone's colour pop!
It sort of "decides" for me what
I 'm going to use..will lt be silver?
Or Brass?Or maybe Copper?

I also tend to choose stones
basing on their colour..I mean, I really
have to like the colour of the stone..
At times, it needs to be vivid, and other
times I prefer stones with a more
subtle,pale tone..

Colour influences my mood too..
My room needs to be painted
with colours I love..like blue, or grey,
or purple, or fuchsia..

Of course colour is not the only thing that
influences my work..nature gives
me a whole bunch of ideas..
even buildings.. ;)

Renovationally speaking...

...Its been a very hard week..
I ve painted some more and then
sanded some more, and painted
and cleaned and and and...

I managed to make a few goodies
today though..
3 rings, one solo silver, one HUGE
ring with a gorgeous Amethyst, and
one small with a Garnet cabochon..
And then, I made a few
pairs of simple, everyday earrings..

Photos tomorrow!

Trying to cope..

with recent changes in my life...
Some good, some not so good...
But, hey..c'est la vie, right?

Anyway, some of the good news, is
I finally quit my job!
Oh yes I did!!!and it feels
goooooood! It feels a little
weird too though, I mean now I need
to get used to new colleagues, a whole
different job environment, new people
new objective, new,new,new..
Oh wait!It might be a good new, right???
I sure hope so..

And the other news, is the not-so-good kinda
news..but I ll get to this at another blog post..

Anyway, feeling strangely happy,
I ve made some stuff which I post here today..

I sure hope you like them..

Experimenting...lately..

Lately, I ve been thinking about trying out
different techniques...
Like trying a different design with bezel..
Like this rectangular Turquoise cabochon..
I didnt solder it all
the way..instead I created a V design
on the bezel..

Lately, I ve been wanting to
make more shiny Silver pieces..
like this Lapis pendant here...
Lately, I ve been longing for spring and
summer....
I ve been wishing I were on a deserted
island..drinking the juice of coconuts..
swimming..getting some tan..relaxing..
playing with sea creatures...
like this Sheahorse pendant...
Lately..i ve been allured by silver..
I ve been totally obsessed with new
design ideas...
I ve been totally devoted to make
them real..from a piece of paper
to silver and stones...

Tulips and Orchids...

I dont know whats your relationship with

flowers..but I can say that mine is one of

great love..and addiction..

I cant live without flowers..

and I think I love all of them..

the wild that grow in the most bizarre places..

and those that grow with our love

and tenderness..

I love their smell...

I adore their different, wonderful colors..

I am amazed by their shapes..

Cant live without them..
